Casualty Care Course 2017

At KingCoasteer we put safety as our number one priority with all instructors qualified beach lifeguards and in house training provided, we feel if we can go the extra mile to ensure our customers safety whilst coasteering or just enjoying our beautiful coastline with us then why not do it?

In Cornwall we are lucky enough to have the RNLI lifeguards patrolling our beautiful coastline throughout spring and summer and the job they do is outstanding! The beaches around all of our coastline change constantly and without the RNLI lifeguards patrolling them we would have far more recuses in the UK

Three years ago the RNLI introduced a community responder initiative which involves members of the coastal community being trained in using the lifeguards grab and go bags should an incident arise on the beach out of life guarded hours.

This is the third year Pete and Tom have completed the course and it’s something we believe is very important for us to do as living and working on the beach we are often the first point of call.

‘The course cover’s all eventuality’s from asthma attacks to broken legs’

The course lasts 4 days and is class room based with the first two days mainly theory based presentations and talks. After that its more hands on practical assessments with the final afternoon ending in a real scenario situation in which you are presented with a real life scenario and left to deal with it whilst being watched by the accessors constantly. Luckily for the third year in a row the boys passed with flying colours!

The skills learned are all something that we hope we never have to use but should the situation arise then we are confident that we have enough knowledge in casualty care to deal with the situation.
