October Half Term 2017 – Family Activities in Cornwall

By October 12, 2017June 10th, 2019No Comments

With October half term fast approaching we thought we would share with you our top 3  autumn activities to do around Cornwall for all the family!

1 King Coasteer – (it’s only fair we put ourselves at number 1!)

The sections of the Cornish coastline that we have on our doorstep is perfect for Coasteering, with mile upon mile of stunning, natural, unspoilt coastline, hidden coves and award-winning beaches, Cornwall is fast becoming the most popular destination in the UK for Coasteering and adventure seekers! The beauty of coasteering is that it’s up to you how much you want to push yourself there is no pressure to do any of it. With the help and guidance from the instructor’s you can safely participate in any or all of the coasteer this is a great half term activity for all the family!

2 King Surf

The perfect activity to go hand in hand with a coasteer. Based in Mawgan Porth  the beach faces the same direction as it’s better known big brother Fistral beach which enables it to attract some of the best waves Cornwall has to produce (but without the crowds!). Mawgan Porth is an RNLI patrolled beach and with its natural amphitheater-like cliffs it can be a great place to sunbathe and surf. King surf is a surf school for all levels of ability from complete beginners to advanced surf coaching. Whatever level you may be we guarantee you will leave full of enthusiasm and fresh knowledge.

We are extremely lucky to have Mawgan Porth as a Location for our surf school as it is one of the few beaches in Newquay that receives surf all year round!

3 Retallack Wake Park

A fairly new addition to the area and one we instantly loved ! with the 2.0 wake cable this is the best in the business and if you’re a newbie the Instructors will give you all the safety gear and get you standing up and carving up the lake in no time. If you’re a pro they’ve got two kickers and a slider so you can practice your skills. if the wakeboarding isn’t for you then y why not try a session on the Aqua Park, Water Zorbs & SUPs.

We spent an afternoon up there and certainly recommended it, – with a well-stocked bar and café lakeside!
